About RARAE

Learning that changes lives across the Rappahannock region.

Rappahannock Area Regional Adult Education (RARAE) helps adults gain the skills, credentials, and confidence to reach their goals, at work, at home, and in the community.

Our mission

To actively engage, enroll, empower, and employ adults in our community — equipping individuals with employable skills, strengthening speaking and literacy abilities, and supporting high school completion.

Our vision

To help adults become successful learners and effective members of society through speaking, reading, writing, math, and workplace-skill opportunities in a rapidly changing world.

Who we serve

Our students are working parents, new Americans, career changers, and lifelong learners — adults 18 and older who are ready to take a next step. We meet each person where they are, with assessments at registration that place students in the class that fits them best.

Classes run across five counties, days and evenings, so learning can fit around work and family.
